Help and Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Thames Valley Harley Owners Group Chapter?

Our Chapter is part of a wider world-wide community, one of many Harley Owner Group (HOG) Chapters sharing a common interest in Harley-Davidson motorcycles. All Chapters are tied to an authorised Harley-Davidson dealership which in our case is Reading-Harley Davidson. It is important to recognise that a HOG Chapter is officially recognised by Harley-Davidson.

How do I join?

There are two memberships types with differing requirements:

  • Full Member – You MUST own a Harley-Davidson motorcycle or trike

  • Associate Member – you must be sponsored by a full member. Full members can sponsor as many associate members as they wish.

  • Pay the annual fee to the Chapter; we have a variety of membership levels to suit your requirements. You can do that online on this site or in person at our Club night.

If you purchase a new motorcycle or trike from Reading Harley-Davidson you will receive:

  • Harley Owner Group membership for one year

  • Three months complimentary membership to Thames Valley HOG Chapter

If you are unsure, you can contact us on this site or our Facebook page, come down to our Club nights held monthly in Windsor or pop into Reading Harley-Davidson.

What can I expect as a member?

We run lots of club events during the year ranging from ride-outs (UK and Europe), social gatherings and rally’s involving other HOG Chapters. We also participate in fundraising activities for our chosen charity and toy-runs to hospitals. Check the Calendar link above to see our activities.

I’m a new rider

We all have to start somewhere! Our ride-outs are fully escorted and adhere to rules laid down by our Road Captains and ultimately Harley-Davidson – safety is the number one priority. Each ride-out will have a Road Captain leading, a trailing rider to ensure no-one gets left behind and depending on the number of riders, one or more marshals.

I own a Harley Trike – can I join your Chapter?

How do I obtain club patches?

Once you become a paid member of the club, you can order merchandise using the link above. You can collect your purchases at Club night or have them delivered to you.

Anything else

If you have any other questions, no matter how trivial you think it is, contact us, come along to Club night or message us via our Facebook page. We understand that joining a new group of experienced riders can be daunting; rest assured we’re a friendly club!
